A fine quality portrait of Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun (1755-1842) from 1788 to 1818 Le Brun painted 37 self portraits, 17 were originals and 20 were copies. 80 x 44cms. This pose was used on numerous occasions. First done for the Accademia St. Luca in Rome, it has been with the same East Yorkshire family for many decades.
