We are delighted to have consigned for our May 18th/19th sale the beginning of a rare and significant collection of early Robert Thompson ‘Mouseman’ furniture. This has come by direct descent to the great granddaughter of Robert Thompson.

We have a dining table and six chairs made for Robert’s daughter Elsie who married Percy Cartwright in 1924. Many family meetings were held around this table over the years in ‘Snapes’ their marital home in Kilburn. A rare fireside kerb from the same house is also in our May sale along with a splendid burr oak kidney shaped table which took pride of place in the front or ‘best ‘ room.

All of these historic pieces are carved with the signature mouse.
We will have further Mouseman family pieces in our subsequent auctions in August and November.
